Statewide Partnerships

Tobacco Free Kansas Coalition aligns itself with many state agencies, professional health associations, voluntary health organizations, local health, prevention, enforcement agencies and with local health and wellness and tobacco prevention and cessation coalitions across the state.  Many of these relationships concentrate on shared values for health, with the commitment to a particular ideal or initiative perhaps changing depending on the needs or missions of the specific organizations.  It should be noted that for the statewide initiative to promote the adoption of the 2010 Kansas Indoor Clean Air Law, more than 30 groups, organizations and entities cooperated in advocacy, education and mobilization to ensure the passage of the law.  Much of the success for the endeavor depended on the ability of these groups to encourage grassroots contacts by their members who were committed to contacting their state representatives and senators to ensure a winning vote for the law.
